The Chartered Institute of Housing is the independent voice for housing and the home of professional standards. Our mission is to support housing professionals to create a future in which everyone has a place to call home. We are now looking for an outstanding events content manager to take our events to the next level, developing a cohesive, engaging, and inspiring annual programme of around 50 events that truly meet our member’s needs. The role will work creatively with our policy, membership, and devolved nations teams as well as our voluntary regional groups, with support from the head of events and commercial strategy, to deliver impactful events – in person and online - that grow CIH’s audience, membership, and reach. This role will be central to our continued membership growth, with high-quality, agenda-setting events crucial to building and maintaining CIH’s membership and our contribution to public debate. You will be joining a small, dynamic, and friendly team at an exciting time for the organisation. We are in year two of our new events strategy, which focuses on delivering a free events programme as part of CIH membership. This is a brand-new role, and critical to driving our success, with the opportunity to truly shape our agendas.

A key part of the role will be to listen to our members and lead in-depth industry research to develop engaging conference sessions with high-quality speakers. To succeed in this role, you will be:

  • An adept researcher, able to understand the key issues affecting the housing industry and our members
  • A creative thinker, who can develop event concepts and engaging conference programmes
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple event projects at any one time
  • Have substantial stakeholder management skills, with experience in liaising with politicians, senior figures, and business leaders.
  • Able to deliver collaboratively at a fast pace, reacting to changes in the market and our member's ongoing needs
  • A team player, enthusiastic about working with the events team, wider CIH teams, and our stakeholders to develop engaging events
