David Butler Bursary Scheme 2016

The scheme is named after the CIH's former President and Chief Executive, David Butler, who retired in 2007. It is a learning grant scheme which provides financial support for people wanting to pursue and progress a career in housing. The scheme is supported financially each year by CIH and Ocean Media Group Butler Bursary fund.

In 2008 CIH improved its grant scheme to help more people, the improved scheme also offers the opportunity for higher levels of financial help. In addition the grant can be used to support a wider range of projects and is no longer limited to people pursuing CIH accredited training and qualifications.
Since its introduction in 2008 the Bursary scheme has supported over 50 people to complete CIH accredited qualifications, attend short CIH courses and conferences and carry out research projects. Applicants can apply under two categories.
