CIH: raising money for Mind this Christmas
Your mental health is so important. During the Christmas period, both anxiety and depression can make an appearance, stress is high, and you can feel like there’s lots of expectation resting on your shoulders. At the Chartered Institute of Housing, we want to do more to help people who struggle with their mental health and raise awareness with housing organisations and professionals.
In 2020,our CIH president Aileen Evans has chosen to support Mind and Mind Cymru as her presidential charity. Over the next year, we’ll be working with Mind and with housing organisations and professionals to find out what more we can do to tackle mental health positively in our industry and work more effectively with the communities we serve.
This year’s annual CIH staff Christmas raffle collected money for Mind and Mind Cymru. We were donated some fantastic gifts by a range of national and local businesses to help entice colleagues to buy tickets and enter the draw. Our prizes included:
• A stay at any De Vere hotel
• £50 Experience Days voucher
• Tickets to Hatton Country World
• 12 personal trainer sessions from 21 Days Personal Training
• Cut and blow dry at Cabello Hair and Beauty
• And much much more…
Because of their amazing generosity, we raised more than £150 for Mind and Mind Cymru, meaning we've now raised almost £12,000! We'd like to say a big thank you to the organisations that donated these great prizes and supported our work to support people suffering with mental health issues.
