CIH wins the FAB Award for Qualification of the year 2018
The Chartered Institute of Housing is delighted to have won the Federation of Awarding Bodies (FAB) Qualification of the year award 2018, for their Level 3 in Supporting Homeless People.
Vanessa Howell, head of professional standards said: “This year we have seen a 500% surge in applications for the CIH Level 3 in Supporting Homeless People qualification, driven by the need to upskill housing professionals after the Homelessness Reduction Act.
“Our education team has done a tremendous job in honing this qualification to act as a transformational tool that will play a part in improving support for all people at risk of, or facing, homelessness.
“So to be recognised by FAB as delivering an outstanding educational tool is a huge honour that we are delighted with.”
The FAB judges were looking for a winner that reflected how a qualification can be successful in different ways. These included impressive sales that reflect its popularity, an innovative approach in the qualification and or assessment, meeting an emerging industry need or making a major impact in a niche sector. The qualification needed to represent the best practice in awarding and so represent the contribution that qualifications make to the education and skills sector.
Finalists in 2018 Qualification of the year category also included NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Behaviour that Challenges, RHS Level 4 Diploma in Horticultural Practice (DHP) Ascentis Level 1 Award in Mental Health & Well-being and Qualsafe Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (RQF).
