Century of CIH and professional housing marked in style
A century of CIH and professional housing was marked in style at a series of centenary events across the UK.
Boards in our regions and devolved nations held the events on December 8 and 9 as part of our 100th anniversary and welcomed hundreds of people from the housing world to celebrate everything that has been achieved by the organisation and the sector.
#CIH100 was used on Twitter by nearly 200 people on the day as people wished us happy birthday and tagged themselves at events helping us to reach more than 300,000 impressions.
Terrie Alafat CBE, chief executive of CIH, said: "We are delighted so many housing professionals joined us to celebrate our centenary.
"This year has not only been a celebration of CIH’s centenary but a celebration of everything that the housing profession and the people that make it so great have achieved over the last century. And we must not underestimate that contribution.
"Housing has been, and continues to be, at the very heart of improving the quality of life across our nation. It has quite literally built a better future for millions of people.
"This was a great opportunity to come together and celebrate this and look forward to what we can achieve."
Jill Allcoat, membership engagement manager, said: "This was a fantastic series of events which were a huge success for CIH.
"It was extremely humbling to see so many people celebrating all that has been achieved and be so proud of the work they do.
"A truly great celebration to round off the centenary year."
