Huge response to fundraising rounders tournament from housing organisations

A bumper fundraising rounders tournament organised by CIH Futures has had a huge response but we still need sponsors and volunteers to help us maximise the amount we raise for Women's Aid.

Since we announced the national tournament back in March team registrations have flooded in, with the majority of heats now full and just a few places left at the remaining heat. More than 20 teams have registered in total.

But to help CIH Futures reach their £10,000 fundraising target for our 2018 presidential charity Women's Aid we are looking for help from the housing sector in the form of volunteers and sponsorship.

Cheryl Tracy, from CIH Futures, said: "We're absolutely delighted with the response we've had to what is going to be a fantastic tournament and we've had to double the capacity in some of the heats because of demand.

"We really want to maximise the money that we raise so we're offering a number of sponsorship opportunities which give organisations the chance to support a really good cause and showcase their brand.

"We are also looking for volunteers to help us on the day of each of the heats and the final. This should be really fun and informal and we'd be really grateful if people in each of the areas can come forward to give up some of their time - it will make a massive difference."

The heats are taking place as follows:

18 May, Merseyside Police Sports and Social Club, Liverpool (FULL)
23 May, Cardiff University Sports Fields Site, Cardiff (FULL)
TBC June, Kings House Sports Ground, London (FULL)
TBC, Scotland (A few places available)

A national final will take place in the West Midlands in July.

Sponsorship opportunities available include:

  • Headline sponsorship for each heat at £2,000
  • Headline sponsorship of the final at £2,500
  • Tournament trophy and runner-up prize at £1,000
