Meet new team member Ruth Cullen as she settles into her role as customer services coordinator
We wanted to take this opportunity to introduce our new customer services coordinator, Ruth Cullen and tell you about some of the exciting initiatives that we are putting in place for our members in Northern Ireland.
Tell us a bit about yourself and your career so far…
Prior to joining the Chartered Institute of Housing I worked for Depaul, a charity that helps those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Previous to this I completed a marketing internship. I am driven by my values and purpose, when I first arrived at CIH I saw the values and mission written on the wall and knew I would fit right in!
What’s your favourite thing about working at CIH?
My favourite aspect of the job so far has been interacting with CIH members at events and education courses. Training events and courses are often held in our office in Belfast; I get to meet and greet the delegates and get to know them. The better we know our members the better position we are in to meet their needs and even exceed their expectations.
I really enjoy planning and working at events. I am particularly looking forward to the CIH Health and Housing Conference in September and the CIH Awards early next year.
Although I am based in Belfast my role extends to CIH Ireland. I occasionally work in our Dublin office but usually I provide customer services for CIH Ireland from the Belfast office. I am originally from the Republic of Ireland so often pair my days in the Dublin office with a weekend at home with my family in Co. Meath!
