New Year, new offer for CIH members
Our head of membership Claire Spendley outlines what's new for members in 2018.
Happy New Year!
I’m so pleased to be back as head of membership at CIH after a brief stint away and it’s clear I couldn’t have come back at a better time, with so many exciting developments on the horizon.
If a week is a long time in politics then it seems a year is lifetime in housing - and what a couple of years it has been. We’ve seen Brexit, a General Election and the Grenfell tragedy and that’s aside from the rather more predictable raft of housing policies.
At CIH we recognise that these major events and the constantly shifting landscape present a real challenge to housing professionals everywhere. That’s why we are updating our offer to you – starting right with Housing Matters; your new regular membership email which will feature more analysis, opinion and insight than ever before.
When we communicate with you we want to add real value to your work, help you benefit from our expertise, and make sure you are kept up-to-date with all of the benefits that being a member brings. Housing Matters replaces News & Views and Membership News and you’ll receive it every fortnight.
But that’s just the beginning, as we enter 2018 we have lots of exciting new plans to make your membership at CIH more valuable to you than ever.
We’ll be launching a new and improved programme of webinars with a new format and more experts than ever.
We’re continuing to develop our Knowledge Hub with new sections on fire safety and starting out in housing set to be launched this month
And we’re also introducing three free half-day training courses for members across the regions. These will be easy to access and focus on developing crucial skills.
Our focus is on developing a programme of activity that covers a range of topics chosen by you, our members, as important issues facing the sector in 2018.
As a member you are our most important asset.
Without you we couldn’t exert a powerful voice with governments, we couldn’t do the work we do to help housing professionals across the world to make a crucial difference every day and we couldn’t make the case for a future in which everyone has a place to call home.
Thank you for being a CIH member and here’s to a great 2018.
