Vice President candidates question and answer session

20/01/2012

On 18 January 2012, CIH hosted a question and answer session with the Vice President candidates to help members decide how to vote.

The incoming CIH president Robin Lawler introduced the question and answer session with Jan Taranczuk and Paul Tennant. Abigail Davies and Sian Sankey were also present to capture the conversation (tweeting and transcription).

Robin began by welcoming the candidates stating these election hustings are a landmark for CIH. Following the review of CIH’s governance, the new role of vice president will support the newly appointed President. Openly and democratically recruited based on skills and experience, two candidates put themselves forward for the role.

Jan Taranczuk, an experienced interim manager and Paul Tennant, Group Chief Executive of Orbit Housing Group, today face a panel of questions put forward by CIH members to explore issues facing the housing sector, the role of the VP, engagement with membership, housing policy and practice issues, training/skills and education.

The person elected will become Vice President for 2012 will become CIH President in 2013.
