Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and ASB in Scotland

This report is the third study in a series commissioned by the Scottish Executive to monitor the use
of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998. Sections 19 – 23 of the Act introduced additional measures to
address anti-social behaviour through the introduction of Anti-Social Behaviour Orders and by
extending the eviction grounds for anti-social behaviour to allow eviction for criminal activity in the
locality of tenanted properties, to cover the behaviour of visitors, and to facilitate the use of
professional witnesses.
