Having worked in the Social Housing sector for more than thirty five years both for Housing Associations, Local Authorities and for the past few years as a trainer, tutor, assessor and consultant Michael has an extensive experience and knowledge of the sector.
Michael has never worked far from the frontline of housing and has been responsible for establishing neighbourhood offices, foyers, supported and sheltered housing and a customer contact centre and therefore understands the pressures faced by staff working on the frontline and appreciates the importance of having well trained customer focused staff.
He is particularly keen to ensure that staff are supported, trained and equipped to meet the challenges presented by an ever-changing environment and all the while ensuring that they are equipped to provide excellent customer service.
"I like to bring a “practical, down to earth” approach to my training and tutoring drawing on my own and the delegates experience to provide a rounded but varied learning experience which directly impacts on the service provided" Michael Smith
