Hoarding disorder is now recognised as a distinct mental illness that requires a professional response. However, housing teams often struggle to understand different forms of mental illness and how to respond to associated behaviours.
What you'll learn
Increasing your understanding of mental illness and it's impact on housing provision. You will learn practical tools and response options available to you. Exploring how hoarding develops and building your undertsnading of how hoarders think and feel about their possessions. This course will give you the tools to support those with a hoarding disorder, whilst considering relevant legislation that shapes your obligations as a housing provider.

Aimed at housing staff involved in housing management, tenancy enforcement, developing policy and anybody with a genuine interest in this often difficult problem within housing knowledge.
