This qualification is accredited by (Scottish Qualifications Authority) SQA at SCQF level 5 and intended for delivery to the Scottish market.
It is a vocationally related qualification for the housing sector, regulated by SQA Accreditation.
The qualification will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to maintain communal areas of housing estates and neighbourhoods professionally and safely to a high standard.
The qualification aims to:
Portray a positive personal image (mandatory)
The skills and understanding for dealing with customers and portraying a positive image of themselves and the organisation they represent.
Clean and maintain external surfaces and areas (mandatory)
The skills and understanding for cleaning and maintaining external surfaces and areas, including identifying the methods, products and tools to be used and using them effectively.
Clean glazed surfaces and facades (mandatory)
The skills and understanding necessary for cleaning glazed surfaces and facades, including health and safety and finishing techniques.
Assist with the maintenance of grass surfaces (mandatory)
The skills necessary to be able to assist with maintaining grass surfaces, including tools and equipment and health and safety considerations.
Safe operation of powered garden machinery (mandatory)
The skills necessary to operate powered garden machinery safely.
To achieve the qualification you must pass all five units.
You will be aspiring to or working in the housing sector in a maintenance role to study the CIH Award in Neighbourhood Maintenance at SCQF level 5.
This qualification is accredited by (Scottish Qualifications Authority) SQA at SCQF level 5 and intended for delivery to the Scottish market.
An SCQF level 5 qualification requires the learner to demonstrate an equal level of knowledge and/or skill to achieve their certificate as a level 2 qualification regulated by Ofqual (England), Qualifications Wales (QW), or CCEA (Northern Ireland).
