Our Housing Academy provides everyone in the housing sector with an opportunity to continue their professional development through online qualifications, face-to-face training to housing and property management apprenticeships all covering a wide range of topics.
So, whether you’re looking to upskill, to tackle the challenges of the future or develop your career, the CIH Housing Academy can help.
CIH qualifications are a fantastic way of establishing yourself as a professional in the housing sector, as well as making sure you have the theoretical knowledge, key skills and learning to perform at the highest level in your day job. Our qualifications make skills visible and bring a greater depth of understanding than experience alone can provide.
We offer a fantastic range of online and blended learning qualifications from level 2 to level 5.
Why study a CIH qualification?
Studying online gives you total flexibility to study when and where works for you. As a CIH Housing Academy online learner, you will have access to a full set of online learning tools, including study materials written by our team of specialist authors, links to useful websites and resources, and access to forums where you can share your thoughts and ideas with other learners.
Online plus combines all the benefits of online study with the addition of dedicated tutor support via virtual sessions. These virtual sessions offer the opportunity to interact and share knowledge with other learners and tutors, but still offer the benefit of fitting study time around work and life commitments.
With CIH bitesize learning, you can break down our qualifications and simply study the units you want to, when you want to, and pay as you go. You may choose to study a single unit on a topic of particular interest, or, over time, study all units which, on successful completion, achieves the full qualification. Bitesize learning is currently available on Levels 2, 3, and 4 Certificate in Housing Practice.
Blended learning is a method of study which combines face-to-face learning days with online learning, so learners get the best of both worlds - the opportunity to interact, share knowledge and learn from other students and a tutor, and the ability to fit their learning around other commitments.
Due to COVID-19 our blended learning offer is currently unavailable for individual learners, however if an organisation would like this as an in-house provision we can discuss this with agreement from our trainer or tutor.
Our training programme is designed to ensure housing professionals and organisations are equipped to overcome the challenges they face day-to-day. They cover the latest topics and content, all updated by our policy and practice experts.
How will our training benefit you?
We also offer bespoke training, working with you or your organisation to develop and deliver the best programme for your specific needs.
Our online training has been developed by expert professionals on key topics that we know you need to be able to adapt to the changing environment.
Delivered by expert trainers in a friendly and stimulating environment, our courses bring together formal training with the sharing of best practice.
Due to COVID-19 our face-to-face training at CIH offices is currently unavailable, however if an organisation would like training delivered in-house we can discuss this with agreement from our trainer.
The Housing Academy offer three apprenticeship programmes for levels two, three, and four. Although employer led, the Housing Academy will work with employers to deliver apprenticeships by supporting apprentices, encouraging them to challenge themselves to achieve more and develop in ways they would be unable to do so without the support of their employer and the completion of the apprenticeship programme.
By offering apprenticeships, employers are providing a work environment that encourages and strives to develop their staff and by doing so become an employer of choice. For apprentices, by completing an apprenticeship they will be able to show current and future employers that they are a housing professional who has the knowledge, skills and behaviours a good employer will look for.
Chartered membership is the hallmark of your success in housing. It is a demonstration of your housing expertise, your commitment to the highest professional and ethical standards. It is the recognition that you are a fully qualified, competent and committed housing professional.
Intoduction to housing management law training
Honestly the best training I have had since I started working as a housing officer. Extremely knowledgeable trainer!
Course was informative and very well delivered. I really enjoyed it. It also helped me to become familiar with housing colleagues I'd never met before The training session was very positive and gave everyone a renewed perspective on the work that we do in a very positive way. Trainer was excellent good to see a session being taken by someone who was passionate about the the training.
