Promoting safeguarding in your organisation

Join us for an interactive workshop around safeguarding in Ireland

People who require care and support live in all forms of housing not just supported and retirement housing, which can sometimes be assumed. Many tenants in general need housing are ageing, experience long term conditions or are disabled, or can require safeguarding due to abuse or neglect. Housing professionals and contractors are therefore likely to be in contact with people who require additional support to keep them safe.

Why attend?

  • Gain an overview of safeguarding & current policy in Ireland
  • Learn more about the referral process
  • Hear from a housing association who has developed a safeguarding policy
  • Participate in the conversation – we encourage attendees to challenge, debate and share their own thoughts and insights

Your speakers:

  • Professor Amanda Phelan, School of Nursing, Psychotherapy and Community Health at DCU
  • David Ryan, head of housing services, Co-Operative Housing
  • Niamh Lynch, neighbourhood delivery manager, Co-Operative Housing
  • Liz Clare, director of services, Circle Voluntary Housing Association
