Part five of our 2020 virtual conference in partnership with Erosh and sponsored by Alertacall. This conference is being delivered through a series of digital events held over five dates giving you the usual timely high-quality content, but also space for you to digest and reflect between sessions.
The COVID-19 crisis has changed the way we live and work and the sector has stepped-up in ways which have made a massive difference to the lives of older people, their families and carers. Whilst the pandemic continues, the issues the sector grappled with previously aren’t on pause. We still have an ageing population, real challenges remain around accessible and adaptable housing, older people need to remain connected to their family and wider social networks, and we must also maintain their independence and ensure they feel valued within their community and in wider society.
The fifth session in our 2020/21 Older People’s Housing series of events will focus on the issue of loneliness; a deeply personal experience affecting 7.7 million people in the UK. COVID-19 has only exacerbated mental health and wellbeing issues, particularly in older people who are more likely to have experienced increased loss and isolation during this time. This session will explore:
