CIH All-Ireland Housing Awards 2025 shortlist announced

We are delighted to announce the shortlisted nominees for the 2025 All-Ireland Housing Awards, taking place at the Titanic Museum in Belfast on Friday 21 February 2025.

The All-Ireland Housing Awards is an opportunity for us to come together with you and your teams to recognise the creativity, passion and innovation of individuals, organisations and projects that have helped tenants, customers, and communities throughout the year.

Best housing development

Sponsored by Co-Ownership, this award recognises developments that provide desirable and sustainable places to live, improving the lives of people within the community. The well-designed development will demonstrate creative approaches and excellence from concept to delivery.

The finalists are:

Excellence in communication

In challenging times, being there for your community is exceptionally important. This award recognises landlords whose communication with their tenants and residents has been outstanding over the past year, keeping them fully informed and supported.               

The finalists are:

  • St Patrick's Regeneration by Radius Housing
  • Apex - communicating with impact by Apex Housing Association
  • Keeping Clanmil homes safe and comfortable: Condensation, damp and mould information campaign by Clanmil Housing.
Excellence in housing innovation

This award is aimed at programmes or projects which can clearly demonstrate how they have developed an innovative approach which has made a real difference to the lives of tenants and customers. Our thanks to Apex for sponsoring the award this year.                                                                                        

The finalists are:

  • One Team, One Community by Comhar Housing and Oaklee Housing in partnership with Coolock Community Policing Unit
  • Elanora Court - Long Mile Road by Respond
  • Boxing classes are a big hit for Clanmil customers, Clanmil Housing Association
  • Colmcille Terrace by Tuath Housing in partnership with Longford County Council
  • Establishment of Safer Neighbourhoods Team by Cooperative Housing Ireland.
Working in partnership

This award commends collaboration between organisations or groups that achieves the best possible outcomes. The award is sponsored this year by Circle Voluntary Housing Association.

  • Reframing Ageing through Storytelling - A creative, arts and health research project by Clann Housing in partnership with Munster Technological University 
  • Health and Housing Partnership by Northern Ireland Housing Executive in partnership with Department for Communities and Department of Health
  • Shared Tenancy Model by Northern Ireland Housing Executive in partnership with MACS.
Learner of the year

This award honours individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to their professional development through their engagement with CIH training, qualifications, apprenticeships, and continuous professional development (CPD) opportunities. Our thanks to TDS Northern Ireland for sponsoring the award this year.

Housing professional of the year

This award will recognise and celebrate the successes of housing professionals who have been working in the housing industry for less than three years.

This award recognises organisations, that champion diversity and foster inclusive, cohesive communities. This award will celebrate programmes and initiatives which have created the conditions for local communities to flourish and thrive. Striving for sustainability

This award, sponsored this year by the Department for Communities, celebrates organisations that are progressing successfully to achieve their sustainability goals. By recognising efforts like striving closer for net zero targets, adopting renewable energy, and practicing sustainable asset management, this award highlights the importance of environmental responsibility and social impact.

Housing hero (tenant award)

This award celebrates the outstanding achievements of housing professionals, committee members and tenants, who have used new approaches to help solve housing problems they see around them.

All shortlisted entries for the All-Ireland Housing Awards will be included in our 2025 Good Practice Compendium which will be available on our website immediately after the event. The Compendium is not only a core learning document but serves as an inspiration to us all to deliver on our shared vision of supporting housing professionals to create a future where everyone has a place to call home.
