At the Chartered Institute of Housing, as the professional body for Housing, our members and our membership offer are extremely important to us. As a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation, our values and business decisions reflect this – we always aim to operate in a way that supports the housing sector to deliver great outcomes for customers, tenants, and residents you work with.
For several years, we have worked under contract with an organisation called Ocean Media Group (OMG) – a media and events company that, amongst other things, work with us to produce our annual CIH conference in Manchester and publish Inside Housing magazine.
Following a period of discussion, we have been unable to reach a satisfactory agreement on how to continue our partnership with OMG in a way which meets the needs of our members and so, our working relationship will come to a natural conclusion at the end of the current contract in September 2023. This means from this date, our members will no longer receive Inside Housing as part of membership, and we will no longer work with OMG on the CIH annual conference.
CIH exists both because of our members and for our members – their feedback and guidance help us ensure that our organisation and associated benefits work for them. Over the last two-years we have made some big changes to our member benefits to unlock access to a wealth of content and knowledge sharing. Alongside many other features, we have:
We will continue to develop our member offer with the creation of a brand-new member-exclusive publication and a new CIH annual conference which will be a leading housing event, both of which will be driven by feedback and support from our member community.
Every day, housing professionals create opportunities for people to find a home from which they can build the rest of their lives. The work they do is so important – and it’s an honour and privilege to be with them on their housing journey.
