In tribute to Elizabeth Martin

The Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) is deeply saddened by the death of Elizabeth Martin, who passed away on Wednesday 2 October.

Elizabeth was a dedicated and passionate housing professional with a long and distinguished career. She served on the CIH Northern Ireland Board for many years, retiring in 2018. Throughout her life, she was a strong advocate for CIH and for education and professional development opportunities for people working in housing.

Justin Cartwright, NI director for CIH, said: "Elizabeth was a true inspiration to us all. Her dedication to the housing sector was unparalleled, and her warmth and kindness made her a beloved colleague. She will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her."

Carol McTaggart, CIH NI chair, added: "Elizabeth was a tireless advocate for the housing sector, and her passion for housing was infectious. She was a mentor to many, and her legacy will live on in the work we do. Our thoughts are with Elizabeth's family and friends at this difficult time."
