What will you learn?

The CIH Level 2 Award in Involvement in Housing and Communities is designed to provide tenants with the knowledge required to be actively involved in local or community housing.

The qualification has various pathways and optional units so that you can choose the route that is most suitable to you:

  • Standard pathway
  • Community action
  • Tenants and residents’ associations
  • Resident scrutiny

Who is this qualification suitable for?

This qualification is designed for tenants who wish to be actively involved in housing and communities, there is a route with a range of optional units, or specific pathways aimed at community action, tenants and residents’ associations, resident scrutiny, and skills for active tenants.

What are the entry requirements?

CIH does not set entry requirements. Our CIH approved study centres may establish their own criteria to ensure learners' suitability for the qualification. 

If may be beneficial if learners have:

  • previous studied at Level 1 or 2
  • or are involved in housing or the local community as beneficial preparation.

How long does it take?
  • The average total qualification time (TQT) is 30 to 100 hours depending on the chosen pathway.
  • The average guided learning hours (GLH) are 21 to 90 hours depending on the chosen pathway.
