The research report was carried out on behalf of the Department for Communities on ‘notice to quit’ periods in Northern Ireland

The report summarises three main areas:

  1. What existing evidence tells us about notice to quit (NTQ) periods and their equivalents in Northern Ireland (part one of this report) and outside Northern Ireland;
  2. Information on the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) as it relates to the research;
  3. New research into how and why private tenancies end in Northern Ireland and the typical length of tenancies.
