Calling the young – CIH Housing Brighton awaits

Have ideas that can transform lives in housing? Want to challenge the status quo? Desire to improve your self-confidence?  Looking to build up your network to develop career opportunities?

Then it sounds like you need to book your free member-exclusive place at Housing Brighton 2023.

CIH is calling out to young professionals from all backgrounds to attend the conference, which will promote age diversity and provide opportunities to improve young people’s personal and professional goals.

Conferences are a place to learn, grow and contribute, and the benefits of having young professionals represented at housing conferences should not be underestimated. Housing Brighton is an opportunity for housing organisations, including the private sector, local authorities and government, to discuss and debate topics gripping the sector, such as the cost-of-living crisis and how it can be addressed.

So, why should you go?

Well, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Enhance your knowledge by hearing from industry professionals on various topics ranging from professional standards to building safety and developing green skills for the future
  • Improve your self-confidence through developing networking relationships
  • Tackle imposter syndrome by being encouraged by senior professionals
  • Boost your creativity and contribute to debates and discussions.

The sector needs young professionals with fresh and innovative ideas to feel empowered enough to share them; you’ll be able to exchange your ideas with other professionals across the sector and ask questions to challenge the status quo, which could lead to improved services across the industry.

The conference runs from 10 -11 May and is free to attend for CIH members. If you're looking for a place to be inspired and network with linked-minded individuals - the Brighton Conference offers you the opportunity to do just that!

Still not convinced?

Here’s my story...

At 26 years old, I hesitated about attending Housing Brighton. I doubted how it would benefit me, whether I could contribute, not to mention the effort of getting there. But I pushed myself and I went.

My passion for the sector developed and my network grew, playing a role in having the self-confidence to start my own business. Opportunities come and go - some need to be proactively sought out and some pop up right in front of you, like now. The question is, are you going to take it?

I hope so - if you end up going, let me know.
