  • What governance is and how it is applied to a housing association, ALMO or TMO
  • Competencies required for effective governance
  • Essential skills such as analysing and scrutinising, preparing for meetings and relationship building with stakeholders
  • The roles and responsibilities of those accountable for the business that do not operational control of it
  • How individuals in other roles can be effective
  • The importance of setting aside other interests to govern only on behalf of the business.

All those looking to expand their knowledge on this subject including board members, senior executives, company secretaries and others with an interest in good governance of housing providers and agencies.

Your trainer

Michael Guest has extensive expertise and experience of the housing sector, with specialisms including governance in housing, education and beyond. An experienced chair, chartered housing professional, chartered manager and certified management consultant, Michael holds two Masters’ degrees: one in leadership and management, another in housing studies, plus a postgraduate certificate in corporate governance
