Resident involvement to drive culture change: Listening, learning, and leading with residents

The social housing sector is undergoing significant change, with a renewed focus on professionalism, tenant voice, and cultural transformation. This session explores how embedding resident-led governance can help tackle stigma while shaping a more accountable and inclusive housing sector.

Boards and governance professionals play a vital role in shaping the culture of social housing organisations. As part of our Building Better Boards series, this session will examine the role of resident involvement and governance in culture change. The session will explore the links between embedding resident voice and tackling stigma in building respect and accountability into organisational culture.

Attendees will learn how housing providers work with residents to challenge negative stereotypes, improve engagement and build trust. We’ll also examine how the upcoming Competence and Conduct Standard links to culture change and professionalism, alongside practical steps boards can take towards more resident-focussed governance.
