Millions of people experience domestic abuse every year, and two women are killed by their partner or ex-partner every week.

Housing providers house and employ millions of people across the UK, meaning we meet thousands of people affected by domestic abuse. So how can we ensure that we are able to support them?

Domestic abuse is a housing issue. In the words of our former president Alison Inman, these are "our homes, our people, and this is our problem".

Come along to learn about what CIH NI & Ireland are doing to support our members in recognising and responding to domestic abuse.

We are asking housing providers to publicly commit to taking action to support victims of domestic abuse and sign up to our Make a Stand pledge.

Your speakers:

  • Stephanie Morphew, policy lead, Chartered Institute of Housing
  • Justin Cartwright, director - NI, Chartered Institute of Housing
  • Caroline Moloney, director - Republic of Ireland - Chartered Institute of Housing
  • Emalyn Turkington, CEO, Women's Aid, North Down & Ards NI
  • Christina Sherlock, head of strategic communications and fundraising, Women's Aid Ireland
