Welcome everyone to the 2024 Welsh Housing Award's Good Practice Compendium - recognising the great work that housing professionals are providing across Wales.

CIH Cymru’s Royal Charter requires it to promote the art and science of housing, its standards and ideals, and the training and education of those in the profession. A key component of delivering on that promise is the sharing of good practice.

One of the key ways in which we do this is through these awards and Good Practice Compendium. Not only do we celebrate the achievements of frontline housing professionals in Wales in delivering our shared ambition of providing a safe, sustainable and affordable place to call home for our tenants, it’s an opportunity to pull all that good practice together into this compendium.

Therefore, we take the opportunity to learn and consider new ways of working with our colleagues across the Welsh housing sector. That is why the Good Practice Compendium, has become the must have record of the sector’s achievement. There is no better demonstration of the industriousness and innovation of Wales’ housing professionals.

The awards tonight celebrate a range of different categories that reflect the breadth of expertise and practice in Wales. These awards are, I hope, a fitting recognition of the impact you are all making in the sector.
