Being a CIH member allows you to apply for a free TOTUM membership to access a wealth of savings on your everyday essentials. TOTUM is the new name for the NUS student card, which unlocks brilliant discounts on many brands, from keeping fit and dining, to travel and luxury items.
If you are a current CIH member or a CIH learner studying for one of our professional qualifications, TOTUM is for you. With hundreds of discounts from famous brands and local independents, having a free TOTUM membership could make juggling the pressures of work and study a little bit easier.
If you want even more savings, you can buy a TOTUM+ discount card, which comes with even more, including in store offers. A three year membership costs just £24.99 or one year costs £14.99.

How to sign up?
If you are a CIH member or learner, please follow these steps to get your TOTUM membership.

To start, you must be logged into your MyCIH account. If you have never logged in before, please follow these steps here.

Once you have logged into your MyCIH account, return back to this page and click on the 'Get a verification code' image below – if you are not logged in this image will not appear until you do so.

Click and copy the code (you’ll also get the code emailed to you).
- Click the 'Get your TOTUM card' button and continue to complete the joining form*. Please ensure you fill in all the relevant information and use the email you signed up to CIH with.
*If you only want the free TOTUM membership, once you reach the stage to choose the length of the paid TOTUM+ discount card just exit the application process. At this stage you will already be a verified free TOTUM member and can return to the TOTUM app or website at any time with the log in details you created.
You can download the TOTUM app for free from the App Store or Google Play Store.
Ensure you are logged into the CIH website with your current CIH member credentials. Once you’ve done so, return to this page and click the "GET A VERIFICATION CODE" image above (it will only appear once you have logged in). You will be taken to a new browser with your unique verification code. Copy it and progress with your application. The code will also be sent to the email address linked to your CIH membership. Please check your spam or junk mail. If you have tried the above and still can't access your verification code, don't hesitate to call us on 024 7685 1700 or email customer@cih.org.
Your card should usually arrive within ten working days from when you place your order. Your card will be sent to your chosen delivery address, and you can check this on the 'track your card' section of your TOTUM profile. If your card hasn't arrived after 14 days, please create a ticket to let TOTUM know here. When submitting your ticket, please reconfirm your address and if any changes need to be made to the original address you selected.
The expiry date is on the front of your TOTUM+ discount card. It will be valid for one, two or three years, depending on the length of time you purchased. You will be contacted before your card is due to expire to remind you of its expiry and invite you to renew. Renewals of your TOTUM+ discount card can be made within 120 days or less of the current expiry date or once your card has expired. You must be a CIH member to renew your card.
As a TOTUM member, it is advisable to have the app installed on your smartphone to take your discounts with you. Plus, you will receive all the hottest offers and discounts straight to your phone by enabling your push notifications.
You can log in to redeem your TOTUM and TOTUM+ discounts via the TOTUM website or on the TOTUM app. Click login and enter the email address and password you registered with. You will need to log in with the same email address you initially registered with.

- You will then be sent an email with a link.
- After clicking the link, you will be prompted to set a new password.
