CIH Futures welcomes new members to its board

We are pleased to introduce seven new CIH Futures members who have recently joined the Futures board, after a successful recruitment campaign.

CIH Futures is an advisory panel to Chartered Institute of Housing, representing the voices of young professionals (under 35) working in the housing sector. Launched in 2017, CIH Futures is designed to empower and amplify the voices of younger members, ensuring that the housing profession reflects the diverse society we serve.

Halisha Kaur, chair of CIH Futures, welcomed the new members to the board, saying: "CIH Futures is a dynamic community of young housing professionals dedicated to shaping the future of the housing sector.

"I’m delighted to welcome new members to CIH Futures, who further enhance the diversity of our representation across the UK and the range of housing specialisms we have in Futures. They join in what’s sure to be a landmark year for the board, as Future's former chair, Elly Hoult, gains pace with her CIH presidential campaign CHOOSE HOUSING focusing on careers in housing.

"Our new members will work alongside existing board members to support this campaign and CIH’s mission to ensure that everyone has a place to call home.”

The appointees continue Futures’ excellent track record of appointing diverse board members representing gender, ethnicity, LGBTQ+, neurodiversity and disability, as well as representing our devolved nations. They also bring a wide range of skills mirroring the diversity of roles available to young people working in the housing sector with new board members working across communications, estate management, environmental and sustainability, tenancy management, quality and assurance, all of which will significantly contribute to the work CIH Futures.

The new members include:

  • Joshua Middleton, tenancy officer, Hull City Council
  • Lizzie Skillen, quality assurance and standards officer, London Borough of Brent
  • Emily Stockford, environmental sustainability business partner, Stonewater
  • Megan Rank, project manager, Capital Letters
  • Lucy Owen, communications manager, Trident
  • Mica Joseph, head of estate management, Notting Hill Genesis
