CIH responds to conclusion of Homelessness Prevention Grant consultation

The government has concluded and published the outcome of its consultation on funding arrangements for the Homelessness Prevention Grant from 2026/27 onward.

Stephanie Morphew, CIH policy lead on homelessness, domestic abuse and supported housing said: "We are glad to see that ours and the wider sector's concerns about the proposed metrics to quantify homelessness demand did not adequately reflect the drivers of homelessness. As a result, adjustments have been made to capture homeless households who are working and aren't receiving benefits and so direct more funding to where there are higher working homelessness pressures. We welcome these changes as part of the wider reforms to local government finance."
