This e-learning module will focus on ethical, helping you examine its application in the work context and make links between the concept of being ethical and producing positive outcomes for you, your colleagues, your organisation and residents.

We will explore the six core elements of this characteristic (professional boundaries, ethical working, ethical perspectives, role model, conflict of interest, and professional judgement), examining what we mean by ethics and how ethical decision-making impacts us on every level, both personally and professionally.

You will consider how ethical decision making can be challenging, ensuring that fairness, not favouritism is the correct course of action.

What will I learn?

This eLearning module will help you:

  • Make decisions and act in a professional manner using professional ethics

  • Recognise that when ethical dilemmas arise, your decision making will impact different stakeholders in different ways

  • Take responsibility for your own choices and actions using ethical decision making

  • Use the CIH ethical decision-making model and its six key stages to ensure your decision making is robust and justifiable

  • Use the case studies to challenge your ethical decision making and how you would respond in different scenarios.

How will I learn?

You will be asked to consider a number of case studies, tasks and scenarios to critically reflect on your own decision-making process; and you will be provided with a series of examples and techniques to help you with the application of your learning.

You will be challenged to consider undertaking tasks to help enhance your ethical practice.

This eLearning module is interactive and includes videos, case studies and real-life examples where you can test yourself, download information, reflect and go into as much detail as is right for you.
