If you work in the housing sector you know that keeping on top of the latest regulation and good practice can be a challenging task. However, with CIH membership you won’t have to worry, as we stay on top of all changes for you.
Our range of member benefits are designed to help keep you informed and able to develop in your own career. Below we’ve outlined how you can access all of your CIH member benefits.
One of the first things you should do when starting or renewing your membership is to sign up for your online CIH member account, My CIH, this is your doorway to all member benefits and vital to gain access to everything you are entitled to.
In your account you can update your personal details to make sure we always have the best way to contact you, check your member status and keep track of your event, training and qualification bookings. You can also log your continuous professional development (CPD) in one place with the CIH CPD log, making sure you can easily track all your development to keep your career progress in check.
When you’re logged into your account, it’ll also give you your access to locked member content throughout the website.
To log in to your account just hit the “Login” link in the top right corner of our website or visit our page on getting help logging in.

When you sign up to be a member of CIH you will be automatically subscribed to receive both these emails to the email address you signed up with. If you do not receive your emails, please email customer@cih.org.
As a member of CIH you can get free* access to a wide range of CIH events, such as our flagship conferences around the UK and Ireland, our regular virtual webinars, plus you’ll have access to the webinar recordings, so you’ll always have a chance to catch up with the latest housing topics.

The CIH mentoring programme aims to link mentees up with mentors in their subject area, or based on a skill that someone wants to learn about. The Pushfar platform which hosts our mentoring is geared up towards matching profiles and lets you search and reach out to your next mentoring relationship.

As a CIH member part of your commitment to the housing sector is to uphold CIH’s code’s of conduct and ethics; linked to this are our professional standards, seven characteristics which will help you develop in your professionalism and career.
Members can take the self-assessment, store and track your results over time and access our range of free learning resources to help develop any areas you might lacking according to your assessment results. This great CPD resources allows members to focus on key skills to advance career development in the sector. These characteristics aren’t just for the housing sector though, and although we know like most people, once you’re in housing you stay, all the training on our professional standards will help you generally in business too.

The housing sector bible is what the UK Housing Review is referred to. This annual publication is a must have reference for anyone working in the sector, and as a CIH member you can get it free, as well as a range of events, follow up content and summaries through the year as well!

You’re never alone when working in housing. Everyone is willing to share ideas and help others when stuck and this is why being a CIH member helps you to connect with others in our community.
We have a huge range of groups, from regionally based networks for learning, to policy topic led panels for discussion and debate on the latest legislation. We also have a group (and sub nation groups) for our young professionals called CIH Futures, promoting careers and development in the sector for under 35s.

As well as a member organisation CIH is also a leader in housing education with our Awarding Organisation creating housing qualifications for people to study and take their careers to the next level. We pride ourselves on quality standards for all our housing qualifications no matter the level.
Our separate Housing Academy, which is just one of the study centres you can choose to take one of CIH’s qualifications, also offers a range of training courses in a variety of subjects. CIH members can take any of those training courses at a discounted rate.
