As the professional body for the housing sector, CIH is always to looking for ways to support and enhance professional practice across the housing workforce. And with new qualification requirements for senior social housing practitioners being introduced in England, the profession in Scotland has a once in a generation opportunity to consider how we support practitioner professionalism in this country.
CIH Scotland doesn’t think mandatory qualifications are the answer in Scotland, but we can’t stand still as England embarks on greater professional recognition and we want to work with you, our CIH members, to agree the changes we want to see here.
Over the last few months, CIH Scotland has developed an outline of work in three distinct areas that we believe, if adopted, would transform how the sector approaches housing as a profession:
